Mick Thompson

Mick Thompson is a seasoned professional currently serving as Vice Chair at Newcastle Building Society and as Chair of The Clinkard Group Limited. They hold various trustee positions, including with the Greggs Foundation and Newcastle United Foundation, and have been a non-executive director at multiple organizations such as NorthStandard and Atlas Cloud. Mick’s extensive career includes over three decades as Office/Senior Partner at KPMG LLP prior to their retirement in 2018. Educated at Durham University, where they earned a BA (Hons) in Economics, Mick also supports community events through NEYouth and has been involved with the Lord's Taverners as Regional Treasurer since 1992.
