Brian Hartmann

Brian Hartmann serves as the President of NorthStar Clean Energy, a CMS Energy Company, since May 2021, where the focus is on helping organizations achieve sustainability goals through tailored green energy solutions. In addition to this role, Brian has been a Board Member at Takanock, Inc. since April 2024, working on Continuity of Power™ solutions for critical operations. Previous positions include Executive Director of Corporate Strategy at Consumers Energy and Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company. Brian's educational background includes an MBA and MS in Sustainability Strategy and Natural Resource Science from the University of Michigan, along with further studies at Harvard Business School and Yale University in clean energy financing and deployment.
