Darlene Crowder, SHRM-SCP, SPHR has a diverse range of work experience in human resources. Darlene is currently serving as the Vice President of Human Resources at NorthStar Energy, a Saltchuk Company. Prior to this role, they held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at Foss Maritime Company, also a Saltchuk Company, from August 2014 to December 2021.
Before joining the Saltchuk companies, Darlene worked as the Director of Human Resources at Swedish Medical Group from August 2011 to August 2014. In this role, they provided strategic consulting to executive leaders and oversaw a complete restructure of all HR processes, positions, and technology platforms.
Darlene's work experience also includes being a Human Resources Consultant and Practice Lead at Washington Employers from February 2006 to July 2011. Darlene developed and managed a compensation consulting practice for the HR employer association and played a key role in advancing the association's brand in the Pacific NW.
Earlier in their career, Darlene served as an Employee Relations Manager at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center from August 2005 to February 2006. Darlene managed employee relations staff and handled union contracts, personnel policies, and external inquiries and charges/complaints.
Darlene started their career as a Human Resources Manager at Time Warner Inc., where they managed all HR functions for the largest national Time Life Libraries branch. Darlene provided consultation on legal and policy issues, administered employment programs and policies, and ensured legal compliance.
Overall, Darlene Crowder has a strong background in human resources and has held various leadership positions throughout their career.
Darlene Crowder earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Industrial Relations from Central Washington University from 1982 to 1986. Darlene has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In December 2010, they obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Additionally, in May 2015, they received the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM. Darlene further enhanced their credentials by obtaining the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM in May 2015. Darlene continued to expand their expertise by achieving the SPHR® Certification again from the HRCI in September 2017, and once more in November 2018, they obtained the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM.
