John Kunert has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. John started their career in 2002 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they worked in several research specialist and associate positions in fields such as influenza research, parasitology, biochemistry, and poultry science. In 2013, they joined Lucigen Corp. as a production scientist and later transitioned to a quality assurance engineer role. In 2019, they moved to NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes, LLC, where they initially worked as a senior quality assurance engineer and then transitioned to their current role as a senior supplier assurance quality engineer.

During this time, they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree with a focus on Biology, General. John then continued their education at UW Madison from 1999 to 2002, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Zoology/Animal Biology. In 2016, Kunert attended the Dade Moeller Training Academy and obtained a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Certification in the field of Radiation Safety.
