Dawn Bunke is a licensed therapist at NorthStar Regional, specializing in mental health services and addiction treatment since September 2018. In addition to serving as a primary counselor, Dawn currently works as an MICD intern and has previous experience as an evening IOP counselor and chemical dependency technician at NorthStar Regional and Mission Detox. Dawn's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Substance Abuse/Addiction Counseling from Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School, a Bachelor's degree in Human Services from Rasmussen University, and an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching from Rasmussen University. Prior to the mental health field, Dawn worked as a preschool teacher at KinderCare from March 2007 to 2017.

SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT NorthStar Regional treats co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders at the same time, in the same place, with the same highly qualified and highly trained staff. Medical, psychiatric, psychological, and social components of treatment are blended to achieve the highest level of success. MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES NorthStar Regional provides individual, marriage, and family counseling services for clients of all ages. We also offer several group programs for those who need more intensive treatment. ASSESSMENTS An assessment is the first step in helping our clients get the proper level of care. We provide both Rule 25/chemical use assessments and mental health assessments. HOUSING Finding safe housing is often an important part of substance use treatment. NorthStar Regional offers housing through our residential programs, intensive outpatient programs with lodging, and sober homes - a total of 336 beds across the system.
