Elena Fosness is a dedicated mental health therapist with extensive experience across multiple healthcare settings. Currently serving at NorthStar Regional since March 2021, Elena provides therapy to a diverse clientele. Previous roles include providing therapy at BetterHelp from April 2021 to February 2023, and working with individuals, families, and couples at ABC CHILD & FAMILY THERAPY CENTER from March 2019 to March 2021. Additionally, Elena contributed to the mental health of adolescents at Village Ranch, Inc. between April 2019 and April 2020 and delivered therapy at Life Medical P.A. & Minnesota Medical and Rehabilitative Services, LLC from April 2018 to March 2019. Starting the career as an in-home therapist at the Associated Clinic of Psychology from July 2015 to March 2018, Elena holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Adler Graduate School, attained in 2015.

SUBSTANCE USE TREATMENT NorthStar Regional treats co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders at the same time, in the same place, with the same highly qualified and highly trained staff. Medical, psychiatric, psychological, and social components of treatment are blended to achieve the highest level of success. MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES NorthStar Regional provides individual, marriage, and family counseling services for clients of all ages. We also offer several group programs for those who need more intensive treatment. ASSESSMENTS An assessment is the first step in helping our clients get the proper level of care. We provide both Rule 25/chemical use assessments and mental health assessments. HOUSING Finding safe housing is often an important part of substance use treatment. NorthStar Regional offers housing through our residential programs, intensive outpatient programs with lodging, and sober homes - a total of 336 beds across the system.
