Steven Berkowitz, DVM, DACVECC, is a highly experienced veterinary criticalist currently serving at NorthStar VETS since October 2015. With a background in emergency and critical care, Steven has held leadership roles including Chief of Emergency and Critical Care at Saint Francis Veterinary Center from 2014 to 2015 and has contributed as a Contributing Editor for VetCompanion since 2018. Previous positions include residency in Emergency and Critical Care at Oradell Animal Hospital (2011-2014) and associate veterinarian roles at Animal Specialty Center (2010-2011) and Animal Emergency and Referral Associates (2007-2010). Steven began a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at ASPCA - Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital (2006-2007) after earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Saint George's University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Miami.
