Niall Sweby CMgr FCMI has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Niall is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Northumbria Students' Union since June 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of Membership Services and HR at Northumbria Students Union from January 2012 to June 2021. Additionally, they served as a Trustee at Emerging Leaders Network North from November 2015 to December 2016. Niall also served as Chair at North Tyneside VODA from July 2011 to October 2012 and as a Trustee at North Tyneside Voluntary Organisations Development Agency from 2010 to 2012. Niall'sprevious roles include Tendering Manager and Business Development Manager at The Social Investment Business, Director of Programmes at Hackney Council for Voluntary Service, Project Manager at Islington Voluntary Action Council, and Public Relations Officer at The Charity Commission.

Niall Sweby CMgr FCMI has an extensive educational background. In 1993, they graduated from the University of St Andrews with an MA(Hons) degree in English and Medieval History. Later, from 2001 to 2003, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where they obtained an MSc in Voluntary Sector Organisation. Most recently, from 2020 to 2023, Niall studied at Northumbria University, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business. Furthermore, in 2022, they completed the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management Coaching and Mentoring at Northumbria University. Additionally, Niall Sweby is a Chartered Manager Fellow and received this certification from the Chartered Management Institute in July 2023.
