Beth Goldberg serves as chief risk officer at Northwell Health, where she is responsible for the assessment and mitigation of risk; executive sponsor of the enterprise risk management counsel; operation of the medical malpractice program; claims management; systemwide global insurance placement; data analytics; risk management assessment of contracts and due diligence; serves as an officer of Regional Insurance Company and president of Montauk risk retention group.
Ms. Goldberg joined Northwell in 2019 after more than 20 years in the insurance industry where she has had responsibility for the quality and strategy for public, private and not-for-profit risks for commercial and financial institutions.
Prior to Northwell, Ms. Goldberg served as chief underwriting officer of financial lines at Starr Companies, overseeing growth strategies to impact top and bottom line through new growth streams (including new product rollout), re-positioning of portfolio for long-term sustainable profitability. She also held several leadership positions with Zurich North America, including senior vice president and head of middle markets and regional financial services, and vice president and head of emerging markets. Ms. Goldberg started her insurance career at American International Group.
She is a regular contributor to several insurance industry publications and a frequent speaker at insurance and risk management forums. An active member of Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS), Ms. Goldberg currently serves as chair of the PLUS eastern chapter and past president of its national foundation board.
Ms. Goldberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and is currently pursuing her MBA in analytics from Villanova University.
