Gary Cunningham possesses extensive experience in program leadership and organizational development within the non-profit and public sectors. Currently serving as Vice President of Programs and Chief Program Officer at Northwest Area Foundation since 2007, Gary has strategically led grantmaking initiatives to combat poverty across eight states, developed a new strategic framework with the Board of Directors, and enhanced internal organizational culture. Prior experience includes serving as CEO and Director of Primary Care at NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center, where Gary successfully directed significant organizational change and strategic mergers, and as Director of Planning and Development for Hennepin County, providing crucial policy guidance and managing housing-related activities. Academic credentials include a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Metropolitan State University.
