Director Respiratory Care Services Sleep Neurodiagnostics at Northwest Health

Patti Solano has extensive experience in respiratory care services and education. Patti currently serves as the Director of Respiratory Care Services Sleep Neurodiagnostics at Northwest Health since June 2017. Prior to this, they held the position of Manager of Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care Services at the University of Chicago Medicine from March 2012 to April 2017. Patti also worked as the Director of Lung Health at the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest from April 2015 to August 2016. Patti started their career at the University of Chicago in 2004 as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and eventually became the Education and Disease Specialist Coordinator from February 2008 to August 2012. In this role, they focused on education and chronic disease management, particularly asthma, COPD, and Cystic Fibrosis. Patti also contributed to initiatives aimed at reducing patient readmission rates and improving overall quality of care.

Patti Solano BS, RRT, AE-C has a diverse education history. Patti started their education journey at Indiana University Northwest, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy. Following that, they attended Grand Canyon University in 2012 and 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Professional Development with Advanced Patient Care. In 2013, Patti became a Certified Asthma Educator. Patti also pursued additional educational opportunities, attending the University of Chicago for an Evidence Based Research Program, the American Association for Respiratory Care Leadership Institute for a Management Certificate, and the University of Chicago for a Safety & Quality 101 course. Additionally, Patti obtained a COPD Educator certificate from the American Association for Respiratory Care. Throughout their education, they were also involved in several societies, including the American Lung Association, Healthy Lung USA 2014, CASPEN, and U of C Nursing Grand Rounds.
