Laurel Burnham

Laurel Burnham has extensive experience in microbiology, infection prevention, and educational roles within healthcare and academia. Currently serving as the Director of Infection Prevention at Northwest Healthcare Tucson since May 2016, Laurel oversees the Microbiology department and performs microbiology testing for the entire healthcare system. Additionally, Laurel has been an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Microbiology at Pima Community College since August 2013. Previous positions include Quality Specialist and Senior Medical Technologist at Banner - University Medical Center, where responsibilities included quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and microbiological testing. Laurel has a solid educational background, holding a Master of Public Health in Applied Epidemiology from the University of Arizona, alongside a Bachelor of Science in Science Education and an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technician.
