Michelle Ortberg Hancock

Michelle Ortberg Hancock currently serves as the Assistant Director of Special Education Instruction & Related Services at Northwest ISD, a position held since August 2009, after prior roles including Special Education Coordinator, Educational Diagnostician, and Special Education Teacher. Earlier experience includes a Special Education Elementary School Teacher position at White Settlement ISD from August 2005 to July 2009, where Michelle taught both general education third grade and special education. Michelle's teaching career began at the Masonic Home and School of Texas, where responsibilities included teaching self-contained 6th grade general education and a combined first and second grade general education class from June 2003 to June 2005. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Special Education and Educational Diagnostician from Texas Tech University, Principal Certification in Educational Leadership and Administration from Lamar University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching from Texas Wesleyan University.
