Northwest Outward Bound School
Kirsten Isakson is a highly experienced professional in holistic healthcare and outdoor education. Currently serving as an Instructor and Staff Trainer at Northwest Outward Bound School since June 2019, Kirsten also holds the position of Clinical Director, Acupuncturist, and Herbalist at Illumination Rock Integrative Medicine, specializing in neurological and autoimmune pain conditions. With a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAcOM) from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a focus on Agroecology and Ethnobotany from Lewis & Clark College, Kirsten has a strong foundation in both healthcare and environmental sciences. Previous roles include working as an Acupuncturist and Herbalist, a Lead Instructor at Colorado Outward Bound School, and various positions in retail and clinical internships, demonstrating a diverse skill set and dedication to community health.

While kayaking, backpacking, rafting, canoeing, or climbing in the Cascade Mountains, the Puget Sound, northwest rivers, or Ross Lake, Northwest Outward Bound School students test their strengths, challenge their fears, and discover that they are capable of far more than they ever thought possible.
