Danielle Olson, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Developmental Services Professional, and Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional, currently serves as Manager of Collaborative Services and Collaborative Coordinator at Northwest Special Recreation Association. Prior to that, Danielle worked as a Program Leader at Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association. Danielle holds a certification in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from Xavier University.

NWSRA exists to provide outstanding opportunities through recreation for children and adults with disabilities. NWSRA strives for each participant to function at his/her highest level of ability. Benefits of participation include increased socialization and community awareness, development of new leisure skills, increased physical and emotional well being, and increased self esteem, all in a fun, safe and structured recreation environment. 17 park districts that are served through NWSRA include: Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mt. Prospect, Palatine, Prospect Heights, River Trails, Rolling Meadows, Salt Creek, Schaumburg, South Barrington, Streamwood and Wheeling.
