Katrina Wiegand is an experienced Manager of Collaborative Services, Inclusion Coordinator, and Program Specialist at Northwest Special Recreation Association. Katrina also works as a Respite Worker at Center for Independent Living and has previously been a Dance Teacher at Upper Room Dance Studio. Katrina holds a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation/Recreational Therapy from Chicago State University and an Associate of Arts in Special Education and Teaching from Harper College.

NWSRA exists to provide outstanding opportunities through recreation for children and adults with disabilities. NWSRA strives for each participant to function at his/her highest level of ability. Benefits of participation include increased socialization and community awareness, development of new leisure skills, increased physical and emotional well being, and increased self esteem, all in a fun, safe and structured recreation environment. 17 park districts that are served through NWSRA include: Arlington Heights, Bartlett, Buffalo Grove, Elk Grove, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mt. Prospect, Palatine, Prospect Heights, River Trails, Rolling Meadows, Salt Creek, Schaumburg, South Barrington, Streamwood and Wheeling.
