Matthew Flynn has over 30 years of work experience in various leadership positions in the healthcare industry. Matthew started their career as a Research Chemist at American Hoechst Corporation and Pfizer, where they specialized in synthesizing chemical compounds for cancer, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic research programs. Matthew then transitioned to the healthcare sector and held CFO positions at Day Kimball Hospital, Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Franklin Memorial Hospital, and St. Joseph Healthcare. In these roles, they focused on developing strategic and long-range financial plans, reorganizing finance and business office teams, and overseeing information technology departments. Matthew's most recent experience includes serving as the VP Finance/CFO of Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the SVP/CFO of the Northwestern Medicine West Region. Matthew has been responsible for financial planning, operations, and business development, including the development of customer service programs and planning for a new replacement hospital. Additionally, they previously worked as the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Promedco, where they built accountable care organizations, acquired physician practices, and negotiated managed care contracts.

Matthew Flynn obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 1978 to 1982. Matthew then went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1985 to 1987. Additionally, they have a certification in FHFMA from HFMA.
