Emily Babb

Emily Babb serves as the Associate Vice President for Civil Rights & Title IX Compliance at Northwestern University since May 2023. Prior to this role, Emily held the position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Equal Opportunity and Title IX at the University of Denver from January 2021 to May 2023, and served as the Assistant Vice President for Title IX Compliance/Title IX Coordinator at the University of Virginia from May 2017 to December 2020. Emily's professional experience includes a tenure as Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights, overseeing teams that investigated discrimination complaints, and as a Senior Attorney at the U.S. Department of Education, conducting compliance investigations. Emily holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from DePauw University.
