Lane Fenrich serves as the Assistant Dean for First-Year Students and Director of College Transition Programs at Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, Northwestern University, since 1999. Fenrich oversees the first-year seminar program, communicates effectively with incoming students to facilitate their transition to college, manages new student orientation for over 1,050 students, and directs transition programs for first-generation and low-income students. In addition, Fenrich holds the title of Charles Deering McCormick Distinguished Senior Lecturer, boasting over twenty years of award-winning teaching experience in History, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and American Studies. Previously, Fenrich was the Academic Director at Teaching American History from 2003 to 2007, where a successful grant application for $970,000 was co-authored. Educational credentials include a PhD in American History from Northwestern University and a BA in History and Religion from Pacific Lutheran University.
