Luis Amaral

Luis Amaral serves as the Erastus O. Haven Professor and holds multiple professorships in Molecular Biosciences, Physics and Astronomy, and Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern University since September 2009. Additionally, Amaral is a Professor of Medicine at the Feinberg School of Medicine since September 2011, focusing on research. Previous roles include Founder and Consultant at Chimu Solutions from June 2011 to September 2019, and Early Career Scientist at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute from September 2009 to August 2015. Amaral also served as Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine from 2009 to August 2011 and worked as a Research Associate at Harvard Medical School from 2000 to 2002. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics from Boston University, an M.Sc. in Physics, and a Licenciatura in Physics, both from the University of Lisbon.
