Rob Smitherman

Rob Smitherman is a seasoned professional in gift planning and alumni relations, currently serving as the Senior Associate Director at Northwestern University since February 2015, where Rob also holds the title of Director of Gift Planning Administration. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Executive Director for Gay Games 9 Cleveland + Akron from October 2011 to December 2014, and Director at Hunden Strategic Partners from 2007 to 2012. Smitherman also served as Sports Director for the Cologne Gay Games in early 2010 and worked as a Transition Coach at High Potential, Inc. from 2008 to 2010. Smitherman began a legal career as an Attorney at Daniel, Vaughan, Medley & Smitherman, the successor to Meade, Tate & Daniel, from 1984 to 2006. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor degree from William & Mary Law School (1984) and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Washington and Lee University (1981).
