Lauren Richman serves as the William and Sarah Ross Soter Curator of Photography at Norton Museum of Art since April 2023. Previously, Lauren gained experience as the Assistant Curator of Photography at the Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University from March 2020 to April 2023, and as a Terra Foundation for American Art Predoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian American Art Museum from September 2017 to January 2019. Lauren's early career includes roles such as Curatorial Intern in Photography at the Amon Carter Museum, where Lauren worked under Dr. John Rohrbach, and various internships at prestigious institutions including Vanderbilt University Fine Arts Gallery, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Academically, Lauren holds a Ph.D. and an MA in Art History from Southern Methodist University, where an additional visiting degree was completed at The Courtauld Institute of Art, along with a BA in Art History, French, and Studio Art from Vanderbilt University.
