Susana Wilson Hawken

Susana Wilson Hawken is a seasoned biotech venture investor currently affiliated with Norwest Venture Partners since October 2023. Previously, Susana served as a Corporate Development Intern at Aktis Oncology and held a Summer Fellow position at MPM Capital. Susana's academic background includes a PhD in Computational Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where research focused on gene control and cellular organization under the guidance of Dr. Richard Young. Additionally, Susana co-founded Waeve Inc., a company aimed at transforming the hair experience for black women, and directed entrepreneurship initiatives for the MIT Biotech Group, fostering connections between academia and the biotech industry in the Greater Boston Area. Susana also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Williams College and studied at the University of Oxford.
