Katia Barragan

Katia Barragán is an experienced educator specializing in Spanish language instruction, currently serving as a Spanish Teacher and Spanish Club Advisor at Norwich Free Academy since September 2020. Barragán has developed curriculum for upper-grade world language requirements and actively participates in the Truancy Committee to support struggling students. Previous roles include teaching Spanish at Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School and serving as a Long-Term Substitute Teacher at Norwich Free Academy, along with experience as a Special Education and ESL Intervention Specialist at Griswold Elementary School. Barragán's educational background includes a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Sacred Heart University and dual Bachelor's degrees in English and Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Connecticut, enhanced by a study abroad program at Universidad de Granada.
