Chiara Ilgrande, PhD

Chiara Ilgrande, PhD, has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Starting in 2009, they worked as a Research Trainee at AO Ospedali Riuniti BG for three months. In 2011, they served as a Research Trainee at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca for a year. From 2013 to 2014, they gained further experience as a Trainee in various companies. In 2014, Chiara joined Universiteit Gent as a PhD Researcher, where they collaborated with multiple research organizations and the European Space Agency to develop a wastewater recycling process for producing edible plants and microalgae in an artificial environment. Chiara'sresearch also focused on strategies for self-sufficient human outposts. After completing their PhD, Chiara took a sabbatical in 2019 to invest in personal growth, travel, and publish scientific papers. Chiara then worked as a Quality Specialist at STERIS Instrument Management Services -EMEA from 2020 to 2021. Currently, Chiara is employed as a Research Engineer at Nostics since June 2021.
