Strategic Finance, GTM

Job description

About Us:

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like Pixar, Mitsubishi, Figma, Plaid, Match Group, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

About The Role:

As a senior member of the Go-To-Market Strategic Finance team, you will work closely with Sales, Customer Success and Marketing leadership, providing financial expertise and thought partnership as we continue building Notion’s rapidly growing go-to-market business. You will drive the financial narrative of our sales-driven top line and equip finance and GTM leadership with strategic insights to support decision making across the company.

What You'll Achieve:

  • Lead the development of comprehensive top line financial plans, forecasts, and analyses that align with Notion’s strategic GTM objectives
  • Develop and implement robust financial frameworks to evaluate business performance, including ROI analyses, sales efficiency, and scenario modeling
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial insights that drive informed decision-making across product launches, pricing/packaging strategies, and market expansions
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, offering strategic financial guidance and contributing to broader business discussions
  • Build attribution framework to drive understanding of Notion's top-of-funnel opportunities and accelerate growth in Notion's sales business
  • Assist in preparing and delivering presentations that effectively communicate Notion's GTM strategy and performance to Notion’s executive team, Board of Directors and investors

Skills You'll Need to Bring:

  • 10+ years of experience, including a strong foundation in Sales Finance and/or Sales Strategy at high-growth SaaS technology companies
  • Expert-level financial modeling skills, with direct experience driving topline planning, forecasting and insights
  • Experience with sales unit economics, including sales efficiency metrics and payback analyses
  • Ability to operate independently and manage ambiguity in a fast-moving environment. You're a self-starter who can manage relationships, deliverables, and expectations with your business partners and key stakeholders
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and initiatives
  • Strong understanding of product-led growth and sales-led growth SaaS businesses, metrics, and customer lifecycle.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience with Sales compensation planning and international expansion
  • Previous Investment banking and/or private equity experience
  • Proficiency in SQL

We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every bullet point listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.
