Byron C. Romain, SVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, is responsible for leading all of NOVA Chemicals’ legal operations and the management of joint ventures, while overseeing company risk by aligning with the changing needs of the organization. Romain joined NOVA Chemicals in 2020.
Prior to joining NOVA Chemicals, Romain was a partner at White & Case LLP where he focused on the upstream and midstream sectors. Prior to that, he was head of North American Oil and Gas Acquisition & Divestitures at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. He has extensive global industry experience in both private practice and in-house counsel with companies including Marathon Oil Company and Mubadala Development Company.
Romain earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Arts from Fordham University, and a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas.
