Bhushan Bhattarai has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Bhushan began their career at Orchid Care Home in 2009, where they worked as a Patient Experience Coordinator until 2018. Bhushan then joined the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa as a Teaching Assistant from 2018 until 2020. Following this, they held a position at St. Patrick's Home of Ottawa as an Administrative Resident, where they developed quality improvement programs and proposed improvements to existing initiatives. In 2021, Bhushan worked as an Assignment Coordinator (Nursing) at ParaMed Home Health Care before moving on to Shannex Incorporated, where they served as a Quality and Risk Specialist. Currently, Bhushan works at Nova Scotia Health Authority as the Provincial Quality Improvement & Safety Lead for Mental Health & Addictions, starting in 2023.

Bhushan Bhattarai completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, General from Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine, Maharajgunj Medical Campus, Kathmandu from 2003 to 2006. Bhushan then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Operations Management and Supervision, from Indira Gandhi National Open University from 2012 to 2015.

Continuing their education, Bhushan Bhattarai completed a Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from the University of Ottawa from 2018 to 2020. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications. In July 2022, they obtained the edX Verified Certificate for Six Sigma: Define and Measure, and in August 2022, they received the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification, the edX Verified Certificate for Lean Production, and the edX Verified Certificate for Six Sigma: Analyze, Improve, Control. The institutions awarding these certifications were edX.
