Dr. Naushira Pandya

Project Director, NSU South Florida Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program at Nova Southeastern University

Dr. Naushira Pandya, M.D., CMD, FACP has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dr. Naushira has been a Professor and Chair of the Department of Geriatrics at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine since 2003. In addition, they have served as the Project Director for the NSU South Florida Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program. Dr. Pandya has also held multiple roles as a Principal Investigator for various HRSA grants and as the Chair of the KPCOM Strategic Planning Coordinating Committee.

Furthermore, Dr. Pandya has been actively involved in various organizations and advisory roles. Dr. Naushira is a member of the HHS Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary and Community-Based Linkages, serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Post-Acute and Long-term Care Medicine (JAMDA), and has been a First VP at the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County. Dr. Naushira has also been a Visiting Professor and Government Advisor at the National University of Singapore.

Moreover, Dr. Pandya has held leadership positions within AMDA - The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine, including serving as President, Vice President and President Elect, and as a Board Member. Dr. Naushira has also been an Advisory Board Member for the National Training and Coordinating Council for GECs. Additionally, they have been involved in the Florida Cancer Control and Research Advisory Council as part of the Governor's Committee.

Dr. Pandya has received recognition for their work, including a Fulbright Senior Specialist Award from the Department of State. Prior to their academic and leadership roles, they worked as the Director of Long-term Care Services at Lovelace Health System, where they also practiced as an Internist and Geriatrician.

Dr. Naushira Pandya, M.D., CMD, FACP has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from UCL, obtained in the years 1974-1979. Dr. Naushira also completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program at Maricopa County Medical Center from 1984-1987. Dr. Pandya further pursued a Geriatrics Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical School from 1995-1998. Dr. Naushira obtained certifications in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and as a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care (CMD) from various institutions between 1987 and 2003. Additionally, they are a Registered Medical Practitioner in the United Kingdom since 1981.
