Assaf Avidan

Assaf Avidan is an accomplished research physicist currently working in the CTO group at Nova Measuring Instruments since July 2018. Prior to this role, Assaf served as a senior physicist at Applied Materials from September 2011 to July 2018, where responsibilities included optical design for next-generation inspection systems and the development of a deep UV camera for wafer inspection. Assaf's expertise encompasses simulation and data analysis using tools such as Zemax, Python, and Matlab, along with experience in designing complex optical modules and algorithm development for optical wavefront reconstruction. Academically, Assaf holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science and has completed MSc and BSc degrees in Physics, as well as a visiting student program in Electrical Engineering at Princeton University.
