John Bachner

John Bachner is an experienced leader in research and development with a robust background in engineering management. At Novelis, John served as Senior Director of Technical Services and Development and Senior Director, Head of Americas R&D from July 2024 to June 2025. Prior to that, at Newell Brands from January 2014 to February 2024, John held several influential roles, including Vice President of Research & Development for the Baby Business Unit, leading a team of 120 engineers and technicians. Under John's leadership, the Baby segment achieved significant innovation milestones, overseeing budgets of up to $20 million. Earlier in John's career, key positions included Director of Car Seat Development at Newell Rubbermaid and Manufacturing Production Manager at Ford Motor Company, where John gained valuable expertise in manufacturing and engineering operations. John holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
