Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen

Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen is the Chief Executive Officer of Novo Nordisk Foundation since March 2021. Prior to this role, Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen spent three decades at Novo Nordisk, holding various leadership positions including Executive Vice President & Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Vice President of multiple divisions focused on drug discovery, development, and diabetes care. Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen began their career as a Pharmacologist at LEO Pharma from 1987 to 1991. In addition to corporate roles, Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen serves as an adjunct professor of pharmacology at the University of Copenhagen from 2000 to 2025, holding advanced degrees in pharmacology from the University of Copenhagen and the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University of Copenhagen.
