Jose Maria Gonzalez Izarzugaza

Jose Maria Gonzalez Izarzugaza is an accomplished computational biologist with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as the Head of Computational Biomarker Discovery at Novo Nordisk since September 2019, Gonzalez Izarzugaza previously held significant roles, including Principal Scientist in Computational Biology at Novo Nordisk and Tenured Associate Professor leading the Integrative Systems Biology group at the Technical University of Denmark from August 2012 to August 2019. Additional experience includes positions as a Guest Associate Professor at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research and a Computational Biologist at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre. With a PhD focused on mutations in the Protein Kinase Superfamily from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and a strong background in bioinformatics and structural biology, Gonzalez Izarzugaza's research primarily emphasizes the interpretation of cancer genomes for personalized medicine.
