Laurent Belec

Laurent Belec has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Laurent is currently the Director of Product Development at Novocol Pharma. Prior to this, they worked as the Formulation Development Manager at Biolab Pharma Canada, where they were responsible for the formulation development of new and generic drug products. Laurent also served as a Chemistry, Tech Transfer, and CMC Consultant at a consultant firm from 2017 to 2021. Before that, they were the Associate Director of CMC at Thrasos Therapeutics, where they managed manufacturing and formulation development for various programs. Laurent also served as a Product Development Project Manager at Jamp Pharma Corporation, overseeing new product development from inception to market. Laurent Belec has also held various leadership positions at Gemin X Pharmaceuticals Inc. and Gemin X Biotechnologies, Inc., where they conducted research and led teams in chemistry and biotechnology.

Laurent Belec completed their education in a chronological order. Laurent first attended Université de Montréal from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry. Laurent then pursued further studies at the same institution from 1995 to 1997, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Organic Chemistry. Following this, from 1997 to 2002, they completed their Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at Université de Montréal as well. Lastly, from 2005 to 2008, Laurent attended McGill University, where they obtained a Graduate Diploma in Management.
