Sebastian Borkus has extensive work experience in marketing and product management. Sebastian worked at Novoferm GmbH from 2007 to 2018, starting as a Marketing Manager and progressing to become the Head of Marketing Communication and eventually the Head of Marketing and Product Management. In 2019, they joined Novoferm tormatic GmbH as the Head of Marketing, where they are responsible for garage door and industrial door automation. Prior to their roles at Novoferm, Sebastian worked briefly at KCI Good Company as an Electronic Publishing Coordinator and Sales Manager. Sebastian also had positions during their studies at Translation Agency Fogeron & Partner, Municipal Energy Supplier Rees, Intersport eG, and Industriebedarf Siebers. Sebastian's career started with a Civilian Service role at Lebenshilfe Groin and an HR Specialist position at Stadtwerke Emmerich GmbH.

Sebastian Borkus has a diverse education history. In 1999, they completed an apprenticeship in Industriekaufmann at Stadtwerke Emmerich GmbH. Throughout their career, Sebastian has also obtained several additional certifications. In May 2009, they completed a course on Business English at VHS Bocholt. In June 2011, they obtained a certification in Social Media Marketing from Deutsches Institut für Marketing. In March 2012, they completed a course on Strategisches Marketing at Nürnberger Akademie für Absatzwirtschaft. In March 2014, they obtained a certification in Erfolgreich Teams führen from Haufe Akademie. In October 2016, they completed a course on Digitale Kommunikation im B2B-Marketing at Nürnberger Akademie für Absatzwirtschaft. In November 2019, they obtained a certification in Vertrieb und Marketing 4.0 from Forum für Führungskräfte.

Recently, in May 2022, they completed two certifications, namely Zertifizierter Brand Manager (mit Abschlussprüfung) from Forum für Führungskräfte and Mitarbeiterführung (5 zweitägige Blöcke von September 21 - Juni 22) from Novoferm GmbH. Additionally, in October 2022, they obtained a certification in Produktmanagement - Wertschöpfende Innovationen generieren from Integrata Cegos.
