Vanessa Rising

Vanessa Rising has extensive experience in the biotechnology and food industries, currently serving as the Senior Director of Manufacturing and General Manager at Novonesis since January 1997. Vanessa has held multiple leadership roles within the company, including positions as Director of Enzyme Operations and Director of Technical Services for both Consumer Biosolutions and Food & Beverage sectors in North and Central America. Prior roles also include Global Optimization Manager and Research Engineer, where Vanessa focused on optimizing enzyme production and fermentation processes. Earlier experience includes roles at Pert Labs as a Food Scientist and at Goodmark Foods as a Chemical Technician III. Vanessa holds a Master’s degree in Microbiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, both from North Carolina State University, with the latter completed in 1993 and the former in 2007.
