Thomas’s experience within the life science and biotechnology industries spans an almost 30-year long career. He passionately pursues a vision of a society based on renewable bioresources. The inaugural Director for the BioInnovation Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark – a biomedical and biotech innovation accelerator / incubator founded in 2018 by the Novo Nordisk Foundation – he enables the development of research discoveries and their innovation into new life science companies. Thomas is former Executive Vice President of Supply Operations with Novozymes A/S, spanning its entire supply chain – including product and process development, sourcing, industrial manufacturing, process optimization, supply chain, engineering and quality – aiming to deliver high levels of consistency, innovation, and value. In another period, Thomas oversaw Novozymes global activities within Sustainability and CSR, public affairs, communications and human resources, a function focused on partnerships and business growth. Thomas has a chemical engineering degree from Danmarks Tekniske Universitet.
