Byron Sarmiento Barrera

Byron Sarmiento Barrera has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Byron started their career in 2015 as a Técnico de sistemas de información at Fundación Universitaria Empresarial de la Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá - Uniempresarial, where they excelled and was directly hired as Técnico de Sistemas de Información. Byron gained experience in administration and development of Oracle databases during this time.

In 2016, Byron worked as an Analista Gestión de Incidentes at Arus, providing third-party services to Sodimac Colombia. Byron had knowledge in systems POS Retail, systems of information, and logistics processes, as well as handling and development of Oracle, SQLServer, and PostgreSQL databases.

From December 2016 to May 2018, Byron continued their role as an Analista Gestión de Incidentes at SONDA. Byron demonstrated outstanding performance and was re-hired by Sonda based on the recommendation of the client, Sodimac Colombia. Byron continued to specialize in incident management, ITIL, systems POS Retail, systems of information, logistics processes, and database handling and development.

Starting in June 2019, Byron joined Sodimac Colombia as a Developer. Byron was responsible for PL/SQL development, executing projects using agile methodologies such as SCRUM, continuous integration with Azure DevOps, vendor management, technical leadership in software factories, constructing PowerBI reports, and administration of logistics applications.

Byron also had a role as an IT Incident Manager at Sodimac Colombia from May 2018 to January 2021. Byron used their expertise in ITIL incident management, systems POS Retail, systems of information, logistics processes, and database handling (Oracle, SQLServer, PostgreSQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL) during this period.

Currently, Byron is working as an MDW Analyst at NovoPayment since March 2023. The focus of their role is not specified.

Byron Sarmiento Barrera attended the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano from 2017 to 2022, where they pursued a degree in Ingeniería and specialized in Ingeniería de sistemas. Prior to that, in 2016, they briefly attended the Fundación de Egresados de la Universidad Distrital. During this time, they completed a program focused on ORACLE DBA 12C, with a specific focus on Modelado y almacenamiento de datos/Administración de bases de datos.
