Denise Appelgren, bCFRE, bCPE, has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Denise began their career at Gleason Cutting Tools in 2000 as a Sales Engineer, where they gained valuable experience in sales and engineering. In 2007, they joined Pacific Bearing Company as an Account Manager, further developing their skills in account management.

In 2008, Denise joined GKN Rockford Inc as an International Sales Administrator, where they managed day-to-day activities for customer service and inside sales. Denise also handled export compliance and successfully processed quotes, orders, and returns.

After seven years with GKN Rockford Inc, Denise joined the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois in 2015 as the Director of Systems. In this role, they oversaw various systems and was responsible for ensuring their efficient operation.

Denise then ventured into self-employment as a Senior Functional Systems Consultant, providing specialized consulting services. Denise also worked as a Senior Functional Solutions Consultant at NPact, utilizing their expertise to deliver effective solutions.

Throughout their career, Denise has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a knack for problem-solving. Their diverse experiences have equipped their with a well-rounded skill set, making their a valuable asset in various professional settings.

Denise Appelgren, bCFRE, bCPE, has a solid educational background. Denise earned their Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, General from Rockford University, where they studied from 1991 to 1997. Prior to their college education, they attended Harlem High School from 1987 to 1991, where they pursued General Education and General Studies.

In addition to their academic achievements, Denise has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. In October 2018, they earned the certification of bCPE from Blackbaud, a reputable institution. Alongside this, they also obtained the bCRFE certification from Blackbaud during the same period.

Looking ahead, Denise has plans to further expand their skillset with future certifications. Denise is scheduled to complete the Implementation Consultant Sage Intacct certification from Sage in February 2023. This certification will contribute to their expertise in financial management and accounting.
