Ashley Lopez

Ashley Lopez is a seasoned political correspondent and reporter with a diverse background in journalism, particularly in covering politics and voting issues. Currently, at NPR since May 2022, Ashley focuses on voters and voting issues during the 2022 midterm elections. Prior experience includes serving as a senior reporter at KUT Public Media from January 2016 to May 2022, where Ashley covered politics and health care. Previous roles also feature political reporting at Louisville Public Media and general assignment reporting at WGCU Public Media. Ashley's journalism career began with internships at North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC and Talking Points Memo. Ashley holds a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earned between 2006 and 2010.
