Chip Brantley is an accomplished co-host and writer/producer for the NPR podcast White Lies, recognized as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Audio Reporting in 2020. With a rich background in academia, Chip serves as a Senior Lecturer in Emerging Media at the University of Alabama since 2010. As the founder of Desert Island Supply Co., Chip is dedicated to equipping Birmingham-area students with creative tools for exploration and documentation. Prior to these roles, Chip co-founded the food and cooking website Cookthink, where oversight of the "Recipe Genome Project" was a key responsibility, and held various positions in television and media production, including Director of TV Development at Dogstar Films and Producer at Kick Media. Chip earned a BA in Philosophy and French from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Fine Arts in Nonfiction from The Johns Hopkins University.
