Dale Willman is an experienced news anchor at NPR, appointed in March 2019. Prior to this role, Willman served as Associate Director of the Resilience Media Project at The Earth Institute, Columbia University, from March 2020 to February 2023, focusing on equipping reporters to address critical issues like climate change and pandemics. Willman was also the Program Manager at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, where a Rockefeller Foundation-funded fellowship program was created to enhance climate change coverage. Additionally, Willman has held various freelance journalism and training positions across multiple continents and has an extensive educational background, including a BA in International Relations from The Ohio State University and an MA in Environment and Community from Antioch University Midwest.
