Eric Deggans is an accomplished media analyst and educator, currently serving as an adjunct instructor at Indiana University Bloomington and Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy, where courses focus on media and race. With extensive experience at NPR since 2011, Eric covers various aspects of television and culture, while also providing freelance commentary. Additionally, Eric held roles at MSNBC as a media analyst and previously contributed to the Tampa Bay Times, St. Petersburg Times, and Asbury Park Press as a critic across various media forms. Eric's active role with the National Association of Black Journalists includes advising on media representation of people of color. A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a BA in journalism and political science, Eric's career spans from reporting to critical analysis in the media landscape.
