Frank Langfitt

Roving National Correspondent

Frank Langfitt is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in international reporting for NPR. Since August 2010, Langfitt has served in various capacities including Roving National Correspondent, Global Democracy Correspondent, and London Correspondent, having notably reported from Ukraine during the Russian invasion in 2022. Prior to this role, Langfitt spent five years as NPR's Shanghai Correspondent, covering significant events under Xi Jinping's leadership, and previously reported from East Africa, focusing on the civil war in Somalia and other regional issues. Earlier career highlights include serving as NPR's Labor & Workplace Reporter, covering major economic events such as the 2008 financial crisis, and reporting for The Baltimore Sun in China and the United States. Langfitt holds an AB in History from Princeton University and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, studying Chinese economy, political Islam, and creative writing.
