Jasmine Garsd

Jasmine Garsd is an accomplished reporter with extensive experience in journalism, currently working for NPR since July 2018 and for BBC World Service since October 2016. Garsd covers gender and women’s issues for "The World," a collaboration between the BBC and Public Radio International, focusing on topics such as sweatshop labor in Bangladesh and female incarceration in the United States. Garsd previously worked as a reporter for NPR from January 2007 to October 2016, where efforts included hosting the podcast "Alt.Latino," which features discussions on music, arts, and Latin culture. Garsd began the journalism career as an editorial assistant at NPR and holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Berkeley.
