Jesse Johnson

Jesse Johnson is a seasoned media professional with extensive experience in radio production and operations. Currently serving as a Production Assistant at NPR since September 2019, Jesse plays a key role in assisting journalists across the nation by managing service, station communication, and project management tasks. Prior to NPR, Jesse worked at WAMU 88.5 from June 2015 to September 2019 as a Producer in Creative Services, focusing on writing, editing, and producing promotional content. Jesse's career in radio began at WRIR Richmond Independent Radio, where from April 2010 to July 2015, as Local Program Manager and Board Operator, responsibilities included managing soundboard operations, executing station IDs, conducting Emergency Alert System tests, and serving as technical producer for local live talk programs. Jesse holds a Bachelor's degree in History from Virginia Commonwealth University, earned between 2004 and 2008.
