Joe Shapiro has extensive experience in journalism, currently serving as a correspondent in the Investigations Unit and the Science Desk at National Public Radio since 2001. Prior to this role, Joe worked at U.S. News & World Report from 1982 to 2001, holding the positions of senior editor and correspondent. Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from Carleton College and a Master of Science degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
