Josh Newell is an accomplished audio engineer and producer with over two decades of experience in the music and audio production industry. Since February 2018, Josh has served as the NPR Music Technical Director and Tiny Desk Concerts Engineer, collaborating with various teams and artists to produce high-quality concerts. Previous roles include Audio Engineer at NPR, where responsibilities encompassed engineering and mixing flagship content, and Podcast Technical Director, focusing on workflow development and training. Josh also operates Josh Newell Recordings, specializing in music production for film and music projects. Additional experience spans freelance audio mixing with SPG Studios, Chief Audio Engineer roles at Ben Moody Music and Kung Fu Garden Studios, and staff engineering at NRG Recording Studios. Josh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Recording Industry: Production and Technology from Middle Tennessee State University.
