Julia Simon is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in climate reporting and energy markets. Currently serving as the NPR Climate Solutions Reporter since November 2022, Simon focuses on the efforts of various stakeholders to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Previously, Simon worked at Public Radio from 2009 to 2022, contributing to NPR programs such as Planet Money and the climate change desk, with a concentration on the business aspects of climate change. Simon's background includes a role as an Energy Reporter at Reuters, coverage of the Nigerian oil and gas sector as a Fulbright Scholar, and leadership positions in production and editing for Asian current affairs programming. Simon holds a BA in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago and attended Sciences Po for further studies.
