Karl Fitzke

Karl Fitzke is an experienced electronics engineer with a diverse background in audio and video technology. Since August 2019, Fitzke has been working at NPR as an Electronics Engineer, focusing on the construction, installation, testing, and maintenance of technical audio and video equipment. As the owner and engineer of soundswell since 2003, Fitzke provides live sound reinforcement and recording services, alongside audio preservation and restoration. Prior to current roles, Fitzke served as an Audio/Visual Specialist at Cornell University Library, where responsibilities included A-V digitization and studio management. Additional experience includes positions at several notable companies like Texas Instruments, IBM, and Lockheed Martin, contributing to significant projects in electronic design and communication technology. Fitzke holds a BSEE in Electronic Engineering from Rutgers University.
